De-centralized privacy tools and more — free for personal use
The terms on which the Header Scanner website and its tools are offered. Last updated 20 October 2026.
These terms apply to this website and the tools on it. They are offered by the developer of the site (the “Developer”, “we”, “us”). By using this website you accept them; if you do not accept them, please do not use it.
The tools analyze, locate, encode and decode text that you supply. The results are drawn from the text itself, from public standards and from a geolocation database that is updated periodically; locations are approximate and a message header can be forged. The results are information to help you form your own judgment, not a determination of who sent a message or where a person is. The tools are free to use.
You may not use this website to harass, stalk or threaten anyone, to infringe the rights of others, or to attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the service or to the computers of other people. Automated or bulk use of the tools is not permitted without our written agreement. We may withdraw access where the site is being used in those ways.
This website, its content and its tools are provided as they stand and without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that they will be available, uninterrupted or free of error, or that any result or any content is complete, current or correct. The reference pages describe standards and practices as we understand them; they are not advice for any particular situation.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data or for loss of profit, and our total liability for all claims together is limited to US$10. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Any dispute about this website that cannot be settled by talking to us is resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, not in court and not as a class, collective or representative proceeding, except that either side may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of your first use of this website by e-mailing software@clue.im with the subject “Arbitration Opt-Out - Header Scanner”.
How information is handled is described in the privacy notice.
We may revise these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. A revision applies only to use of this website after it is published here, never to anything that happened before. A change to the dispute terms does not apply to a dispute already notified.
